Shattered - a poem for a fictional character

When truth has failed,

your faith has sundered

You lift your gaze,

the question wondered

The bough has broke

The veil was felled,

You wish them all

A fare-thee-well.

broken

discarded

a spirit unguarded

has fractured

and fallen.

And when a voice calls, it

tumbles

too quiet

for anger that railed

and sadness that plundered --

Too late

Too little

The cracking has riddled

the self to the core

And no more
